I got a steinberger bass for playing out because it is light.

I also got a steiberger guitar fro playing out because it is light.

I have never made any money recording.

But I have met several who have.

One fellow is a pro photographer and video grapher he takes photos of the Bucs and Rays here in Tampa.

But when I first met him, he wan't.

One fellow I know has his studio all in a lap top with pro-tools and he travels to the gig

and records whether an event or someones home or studio. He has a very mobile set up.

My recording set up is on a desk top with mixcraft 7 and protools.

I am retired and would rather spend my musical time recording myself or playing myself in a bar.

But if I needed money.

I would probably get a nice lap top and put mixcrat 7 pro studio on it.

If that did not fit the bill, which I don't see why it wouldn't

I would put I would put pro tools on my lap top.

I don't see why mixcraft would not do everything pro-tools does for a fraction of the money.

The english have many stories about knights fighting dragons.

Dragons were dinosaurs.

I have been away from the watchtower since 83.

I just look for information where I can find it then try to filter and digest it.

I would not look to the watchtower for the answer to anyting.

If they told me the sun rose in the east and set in the west.

I would have to look out my window to check that.

Any Guitar Players Out there?

I have had the same experience with playing bass.

Usually in a band situation I play bass, because that is what they need.

And usually I am better than the guitar player.

I have made most of my live performance money playing bass.

But I am building a studio and hopefully I can put together a 3 piece where I play guitar.

When I play bass the band already exist and they are finding gigs.

When I play guitar i have to put the band together and find the gigs.

Then when you find the gigs you have to get the musicians to come to them.

Many bands I have been in have had 2 or 3 drummers.

Several bass players

Sevaral singers.

They usually revolve around the lead guitar player or the singer.

I have been in a lot of bands where I have been the better guitar player and I play bass.

I have been in a lot of bands where I am the better singer.

I guess up till now I have never wanted to be the star and take all the responsibility.

I also have about 5 or 6 bass guitars.

My best one is a Rickenbakcer like Mcartneys.

Then I have several Ibanezes and a Fender.

Also I have a Rouge hoffner copy which is really good. I use that for recording.

I just started collecting because when I played out I made money.

I had a day job, so I would save my money and buy a guitar.

By the time I got to 62, I had about 50 guitars and bases.

And music stores always made me happy.

They are like toy stores.

My man cave is like a music store with a wall of guitars drums and keyboards and a pa.

Little socrates. What kind of guitar do you have?

I started out in the 60's with a cheep Japanese guitar, "St. George"

I was able to find it or one like it on ebay this past year and buy it back.

Then I got gibson sg with a paf paf pick up and a whammy bar.

I played that through my school days and in my early bands.

I had about 10 guitars by the time I turned 25 and wanted to find one guitar for the rest of my life.

My research led me to a Fender Stratocaster because my idol Jimi Hendrix played one.

I still have it and spent a lot of time with it.

Since then I started collecting gibson les pauls, Rickenbackrs, Fenders, Ibanez.

Now, I have started assembling building guitars from kits and also buying Stratocaster bodies

relicing them and beefing them up with hot pickups, better bridges and locking tuners.

My favorite guitar right now is white strat with a rose wood neck. I went with rose wood for the jeff beck srv experience.

Most of my strats are maple necks. I put in lace sensor pickups with a wilkenson tremolo. I have not broken a strink yet

its been about 6 months. Thats a long time for me. I have broken stiring on bass guitars.

For the past several years, I play without a pick like jeff beck. There was a time when I could never have considered that.

Today I am working on a torched strat body that started out with brown sunburst i am putting in an emg prewired pickgaurd.

Locking tuners a wilkenson bridge and a graphite nut. The body looks like SRVs guitar

I do a lot or recording I have mixcraft 6 and 7 and pro tools.

God is outside our universe.

Really and what proof do you have ?

I don't have any proof. But if an entity labeled God made the universe it would make sense that he was outside of it.

Just a man who builds a house is outside of the house.

I saw this episode of Star Trek also.

You know deep down that things don't come from nothing. We came from God...

Nope, sorry. You assume too much. Consider some of the cutting edge science in the world of physics. It is becoming more explainable how something CAN, and most likely did, come from nothing.

GOD is not a legitimate default to every mystery.

[edit]: I respect your right to believe what you want to believe, JB. It's just that some people need more than feel-good religious ideology/fantasy when it comes to life and important questions. I find the "god did it" default position empty as it answers nothing. It's the lazy way out of a good, deep thinking session.

I believe it is a posibility. I am all for looking for answers.

I see before me two issues.

God and no God and I see the arguments for each pretty equally balanced.

I believe I want anwers like everyone else.

I also question everything.

I questioned the Jw's ever since I was concious back in the 50's

Then I questioned the bible and God.

I questioned God and the bible that is what got me to the point where I am today.

A scientist will always question and try to disprove. Not that I am a scientist. But I am inquisative.

And I question everything.

Just a hint.... it is very possible they had studio musicians working on their records :) It is kind of an open secret that a lot of bands did this in the 60's and 70's

I know that.

They had someone who knew what they were doing.

And it sounds like it.

There have been rumors that Jimmy page played on the kinks early hits.

And I suspect he played the chords and the solo.

I am just asking why is there a dinosaur in stone on the temple?

1) How are you confirming it's a dinosaur?

2) If it is, what it more likely, someone who has seen a dinosaur picture put it there for some reason OR all of biology, geology, paleontology, genetics and archeology is wrong?

It looks like a dinosaur. They did not have pictures 800 years ago.

There is a lot of evidence that man existed with dinosaurs.

They did not use the word dinosaur until recently.

They used to be called dragons for one.

It is very possible that a small part of biology is wrong and parts of all the other unscientific sciences are wrong.

The parts that are unscientific could be wrong and the parts that are scientific and follow the scientific method are right.

If you can not demonstrate it and test it it is not scientific. It is on the fringes. It is theory and ideas.
